(City of Ottawa) While an earlier estimate put the price tag of the Riverside South extension at $30 million, sources familiar with the deal told CBC the amount is now higher. The original plan for the southern extension included a spur line to the airport, but saw the track stop in the middle of an open field on Bowesville Road, just south of Leitrim Road. The southern extension is scheduled to be completed by 2021. The Liberals have already pledged about $1 billion to Stage 2 of the LRT project, including an extension to Trim Road and the airport link.
