Invercargill Medical Centre is the first practice in the city to transition to a Health Care Home which uses technology to help more patients. Only three of the 15 general practices in Invercargill are currently taking new enrolments, and at least one of them is already booked up a week in advance. Invercargill Medical Centre began its conversion to a Health Care Home in July but Rowe said the full transition will take three years. He expects Invercargill GPs to be keen on making the change. "It puts a few more weapons in their armoury to help patients."
