There have always been allegations from the opposition that their leaders are being raided because of political rivalry. In the second term of NDA, more than 100 leaders including 1 Chief Minister and 12 former Chief Ministers are under the radar of CBI. 95 percent of the opposition leaders in the raidsDuring the 10 years (2004–2014) of the Congress-led UPA, at least 72 political leaders came under the scanner of the CBI and 43 (60 per cent) of them were associated with the opposition. Though the CBI did not respond to a query by The Indian Express on the trend, an agency official termed it “just a coincidence” and denied that the raids had targeted opposition leaders.
