The MPs were served the notice following reports that they were using their apartments to accommodate their personal assistants and chauffeurs instead of living themselves. Parliamentary Committee, which looks after housing and other facilities of the MPs, made the move following a directive from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Apr 15. "Letters were served to 30 MPs of whom four have responded that they will vacate the flats. I hope the rest will do so," said Chief Whip ASM Feroz, president of the Parliamentary Committee. When asked about ministers who are not living in the flats, the chief whip named Fisheries and Livestock Minister Sayedul Hoque.
