The EC's decision has generated lots of controversies with the ruling government advocating in favour of it and the NDC and other opposition parties, against. The Inter-Party Resistance Against New Voter Register (IPRAN) of which the NDC is part of, has sworn to resist the EC's decision insisting that there is nothing wrong with the current register. Speaking to this on Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo', Sammy Gyamfi said they are still not convinced. He further added that "it is only a corrupt government and people who will justify the budget put forward by the EC for a new voters' register."
