The majority of Formula 1 drivers could not afford to pay the new maximum fine announced by the FIA, says Alexander Albon. The sport’s governing body revealed yesterday it will increase the maximum fine its stewards can hand out at F1 world championship races to €1 million (£870,000). Albon, who is in his fourth season as an F1 driver after making his debut in 2019, says most drivers in the early stages of their F1 careers would be unable to afford such a figure.
