Governor James Ongwae unveiled the 250 beds at the male ward and 60 at the formerly amenity wing at Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital on Monday. The county boss said his administration has established additional isolation wards with a total of 100 beds in Getembe, Mwamogesa, Kiogoro, Kenyerere and Misesi. Only one person is in isolation in Kisii county. The referral hospital isolation and treatment centre has 10 ventilators. Mr Ongwae said he has requested the government to support his administration establish a coronavirus testing centre at the referral hospital.
