She emphasised that those who disrespect and burn down memorials of the martyrs cannot be respected. Those who used to claim they were invincible and vowed to make others cry are now sitting alone and weeping. The rioting was followed by a harsh crackdown against the former ruling party leaders and workers. Several senior PTI leaders have since been arrested, and many have dissociated themselves from the party. The sources said that more than 60 lawmakers and the top PTI leaders, have contacted the Tareen so far.
