To prove that the government has the public's health and state of the economy at heart, it must strive to reduce the risk of being overly dependent on a single vaccine. An offer from AstraZeneca to make Thailand a vaccine production hub through a transfer of technology agreement would upgrade the country's capability as well, Mr Anutin noted. According to Mr Anutin, the number of people to be vaccinated should be large enough to achieve herd immunity. Isn't it too much of a risk to bet the health and welfare of most Thais and by extension the economy on a single brand of vaccine?
