A person was seriously injured after a vehicle collided with a deer on the Southern Motorway in Dunedin early this morning. A police spokeswoman said at 4.40am they were notified a car had hit a deer on the Southbound outer lane of State Highway 1. Police, Fire and Emergency New Zealand (Fenz) and St John attended the crash. A Fenz spokesman said three appliances from Roslyn, Lookout Pt and Mosgiel attended. A St John spokesman said person was taken to Dunedin Hospital with serious injuries.
