The Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter was called out to the scene of the crash in the Motueka Valley. A 16-year-old male has been seriously injured after a crash in the Baton Valley near Motueka. The crash happened on Baton Valley Rd at about 8.45pm on Saturday evening, with both Police and Fire and Emergency crews attending the scene. A police spokeswoman said one person suffered serious injuries in the crash, when a car collided with a tree. Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter pilot Euan Stratford said helicopter was called out to the scene at 9pm, and airlifted the patient to Nelson Hospital.
