Emergency services were called to State Highway 1, just south of Warkworth, shortly before 5am. One person has been killed and four others injured in a two-car crash north of Auckland this morning. A spokeswoman for St John said two of the injured people suffered serious injuries and that the remaining two suffered moderate injuries. "The only alternative route is via State Highway 16,'' authorities said. One person, whose age and gender have not been made public, died at the scene, and at least two people had to cut from the wreckage.
