Reports of a serious crash involving two vehicles on the Lower KaimaiA person has died and another is critically ill after a two-vehicle crash on the Kaimai Ranges in the Bay of Plenty. Emergency services were called about 3:40pm on SH29, between Soldiers and Valley View roads on Wednesday. One person was airlifted to Waikato Hospital with critical injuries. Two other people were taken by ambulance to Tauranga Hospital in serious condition. The road is expected to reopen by about 9pm or so once emergency services have finished at the scene.
