One person has died after a serious crash near Wairoa. A Wellington man is dead following a single-vehicle crash in Wairoa on Wednesday morning. Police said the man died after the vehicle he was driving failed to navigate a moderate bend in the road and went down a bank on Tiniroto Rd, between Wainwright Rd and Ruakituri Rd, about 5.45am. The driver died at the scene and was the sole occupant of the vehicle. The Serious Crash Unit was examining the scene.
