One person has been taken to Christchurch Hospital in a critical condition after a crash on State Highway 1 (SH1) near Pareora. The crash occurred at about 3.30pm and caused southbound traffic to detour. A rescue helicopter was deployed to transport the patient to Christchurch hospital. The crash occurred between King St and Half Chain Rd on SH1 and involved two vehicles.
