At nearly every set of traffic lights in the city, there are sensors near the stop line. STUFF We've condensed 15 minutes of activity at one of Auckland's busiest intersections into a single minute. It is not a new concept but it is timeless – an excellent illustration of how traffic flow works. Each of the red lines illustrates a ‘’gated link’’ where the traffic flow is contained to get the city centre running as efficiently as possible. Well, Auckland traffic jams are estimated to cost our economy nearly $1.25 billion every year.
