The High Court has granted bail to one more pro-democracy activist charged over national security law on Saturday, bringing the number of released detainees to six. Cheng Tat-hung, 32, was allowed to given temporary freedom after Court of First Instance Judge Esther Toh Lye-ping rejected the prosecution’s appeal against a lower court’s decision to grant him bail. But Toh revoked the bail for district councilor Ng Kin-wai, 25, on the same day. Cheng was released on bail conditions including a HK$10 million cash and HK$1m in surety. Along with other suspects who were granted leave, Cheng must surrender all his travel documents, including British National (Overseas) passports.
