One person is dead after a ute and a truck collided near Maramarua this morning, causing the ute to flip. In a second serious crash on SH2 today, one person is critically injured after a two car crash on the highway, south of Katikati. Emergency services were called to the scene, near Steen Rd on State Highway 2 about 5.40am. A fire service spokeswoman said the ute collided with a truck west of the intersection between SH2 and SH25. Two ambulances are at the scene, and one other person has minor injuries, a St John spokeswoman said.
