No fewer than 10 Nigerian teenage girls have been rescued from traffickers who lured them to Ghana for prostitution. The Chairman of Nigerians in the Diaspora Commission (NiDCom), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, who revealed this at the weekend, said the victims were aged between 15 and 16. Dabiri-Erewa noted that the girls were lured to Ghana with promises of a better life but were instead forced into prostitution. Dabiri-Erewa further said that the girls were rescued after a tip-off by NIDO, the umbrella body of Nigerians living in Ghana. The victims were said to have revealed that they were beaten, molested, and forced into prostitution without pay.
