KHULNA, Feb 28, 2024 (BSS) - A court here today sentenced a man to life term rigorous imprisonment on charge of raping a female student of Khulna University (KU) alluring to marry her. The court also fined the convict Taka 50,000, in default, to suffer one more year in jail. According to prosecution, the convicted criminal Rafi Islam raped several times of a female student of KU alluring to marry her. The victim filed a case with Women and Child Oppression Control Tribunal-3, against the criminal on January 8 in 2023. Sub-Inspector Md Sohel Rana of Sonadanga Police Station pressed charge sheet against Rafi to the court on February 23, 2023.
