A man died instantly while three other people sustained serious injuries in a road accident at PI market, along the Embu-Makutano road in Kirinyaga County on Saturday. The deceased, a matatu driver, and his conductor had parked their Kutus-bound matatu at the bus stop to pick passengers at the busy shopping centre when another matatu knocked them down. Two passengers, who were about to board the vehicle, were also knocked down by the matatu which ploughed through pavement where the passengers stood. MISSED DEATHOne eye witness, Mr Francis Maina, said several pedestrians missed death by a whisker by scampering for safety during the 3pm accident. Last week, two passengers died instantly after a matatu they were traveling in rolled before being rammed by a station wagon at Difathas, about five kilometers away from Saturday’s accident.
