Police in the Waikato attended two early morning crashes on Sunday, one fatal and the other with critical injuries (File photo). One person has died and another was critically injured in two separate early morning crashes in the Waikato. Over in Matamata, another early morning crash left one person with critical injuries. It happened on Tower Rd, Matamata, about 4.45am, and the driver was airlifted to Waikato Hospital. "It's been a terrible weekend," Penno said.
