One person is dead after a logging truck went off the road near Waitomo in the King Country this morning. The crash happened at 10.46am after the truck went off Te Anga Rd and flipped, police say. The person, believed to be the driver, was initially trapped at the scene near Appletree Rd, before the Natural Bridge, but police have confirmed the crash was fatal. Waikato Police Senior Sergeant Andrea McBeth said the police's Commercial Vehicle Inspection and Serious Crash units were at the scene to determine the cause. Police are working to notify next of kin.
