A person is in a critical condition and trapped after a car and truck collided in Auckland. A person has died after a car and a truck crashed north of Auckland, taking the country's road toll to 27 in just eight days. Police were alerted to the incident on Sandspit Road, Warkworth, at 7:20am on Saturday, a police spokesperson said. Last month, a crash on the road and a truck fire on nearby State Highway 1 delayed motorists in Warkworth during peak hour traffic. Saturday morning's fatal crash takes the total number of deaths on New Zealand roads to 111 since the start of the year.
