SH1 is currently closed and diversions are in place after a serious accident near Temuka this afternoon. The crash occurred around 2.30pm. A police spokesperson said it appeared two cars were involved in the crash, and one of the occupants suffered critical injuries. The road is currently closed, while the Police Serious Crash Unit works at the scene. Part of the state highway is closed and there are diversions in place at SH79 and also at Winchester.
