Police have arrested a man over his suspected involvement in the stabbing of the daughter of female reserve seat MP Happy Baral in Bagerhat. Al Mamun Shikdar, 25, son of Mujibar Rahman Shikdar, was taken into custody early on Tuesday from Gobordia area of the district town, said Sadar police station OC Mahtab Uddin. Earlier on Sunday night, Happy Baral had filed a case at Bagerhat Model police station accusing unidentified miscreants over the attack on Aditi. Police on Tuesday showed Mamun arrested in that case and produced him before a Bagerhat court with a plea for a five-day remand. In August 2000, her husband advocate Kalidas Baral, a former Awami League leader, was shot dead by miscreants in broad daylight at Sadhonar Mor in Bagerhat town.
