KOLKATA: A man has been arrested in connection with hoax call to Bidhannagar police regarding the planting of a human bomb inside the Netaji International Airport in Kolkata.Police said Arunava Sinha, a resident of Dunkuni, has been held in connection with a phone call to Bidhannagar commissionerate that said that the airport's cargo section would be exploded by a human bomb. The first was received by the control room inside the Lalbazar police headquarters around 1.30 am on Wednesday. Security has been beefed up at the airport after the hoax calls.Lalbazar cops said two male callers spoke in Bengali and Hindi and claimed a human bomb had been planted in the airport and could explode anytime. After being alerted by Kolkata Police, members of the bomb threat as-assessment committee at the airport held a meeting and tightened security for all stationary aircraft, airport and its surrounding vital installations.The news, however, hasn't spread lest passengers panicked and actions were limited to intensified security checks. Vigil and patrol has been enhanced in and around the airport, police said.
