These incidents certainly cast a shadow on the efforts by the government and other authorities to improve the country’s human rights record. According to data gathered by The Express Tribune, the National Commission for Human Rights (NCHR) has — between December 15, 2015 and December 27, 2017 — received a total of 1,207 cases of human rights violations.
