Bauer, who might have won the Cy Young Award this year had he not missed six weeks late in the season with a fractured leg, is arbitration eligible for the next two years. This is a unique situation, because in most cases when a team ponders trading a Cy Young Award winner and/or a potential Cy Young Award winner, it’s for a package of prospects that can help that team win in the future.
