Members of a beach management unit in Port Victoria, Budalang'i, have launched a programme to pay fees for needy children in Bunyala subcounty. Speaking to the Star at Omena beach, secretary Omondi Ndeke said they have paid first term fees for Sylvia Nerima, 15. The orphaned girl joined Form 1 at St Cecilia Namenya Girls' Secondary School. Ndeke said the unit has bought land to build an ice plant and a modern public toilet. Nerima thanked the committee for offering to pay her fees, saying she had lost hope of joining a secondary school,
