AN unidentified assailant stabbed dead a special prosecutor to the Ombudsman in Quezon City on Monday morning, police said. Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Joselito Esquivel identified the victim as Madona Ednaco Tanyag. Esquivel said Tanyag was stabbed in front of a Lotto outlet in Barangay Vasra along Visayas Avenue at 11:20 a.m. and was taken to the East Avenue Medical Center by village chief Oliver Pescacio and former village chief Segundo Antenor. Tanyag was declared dead at 12:04 p.m.“Initially, it could be a robbery gone wrong,” he told reporters in a text message. The QCPD chief said that aside from the identity of the attacker, the motive behind the incident has yet to be determined.
