The Maha Festival won’t happen this year. The nonprofit festival’s board of directors voted to cancel the 2024 music festival so it could rework its operating model. The 16th annual Maha had been set for this summer in the renovated Heartland of America Park on the riverfront. Organizers cited industrywide increases in costs for talent, transportation, labor, security and insurance. “We’re confident that taking this proactive step to recalibrate in 2024 will ensure Maha’s future vibrancy and long-term success.”The festival was founded in 2009 by a group of volunteers.
