Since 2015, she has been training at the Sania Mirza Tennis Academy and under the guidance of Mirza’s father and coach, Imran Mirza. “I used to hit against the wall, after coming back from school,” Thombare says. “I don’t think she will be intimidated by the stage,” says Mirza, looking forward to the Rio Olympics. “She has never been on a platform like the Olympics, but she definitely has the right temperament,” Imran Mirza adds.
