The Olympic sprinter took to Instagram to share "some great and also horrendous news". The 44-year-old revealed his son Teddy Ellis Thomas arrived "a little bit early and fast" on Saturday and was taken to intensive care due to problems with his breathing. Thomas, from Wales, said he "went home the happiest man alive" only to be told his son had taken ill. Since retiring from athletics, the Olympic silver medallist has appeared on a number of reality shows including Strictly Come Dancing in 2015. The former European and Commonwealth Games 400m champion was awarded an MBE in 1998 for his services to sport.
