The annual Olympic Day Run was yesterday celebrated at various venues within the country attrcting over 7,000 participants. The Nairobi event attracted over 3000 participants and was graced by the Nairobi County Government Assembly Speaker Alex ole Magelo and nominated MP johnstone Sakaja. He said the news were the best this year considering Kenya’s sporting talent will now represent the country in the Olympic Games in Rio. Ole Magelo asked the county governments to invest in sports facilities in a bid to tap talent at the grassroots. Speaking during the Nairobi event at the Nyayo, National Olympic Committee of Kenya, deputy Secretary General James Chacha said the event marks a special day in their calendar, considering it was coming at a time the country is preparing for the Rio Olympic Games in August.
