Indian bus manufacturer Olectra Greentech has received an order to supply a total of 550 electric buses to the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation. The order covers 50 standard-floor 12-metre intercity electric buses and 500 low-floor 12-metre electric intracity buses. The electric buses will be delivered in phases. The other 500 electric buses will run within the city of Hyderabad, the capital of the Telangana state, and can travel over 225 km on a single charge. Since then, Olectra has announced two major electric bus orders within India, with 150 buses ordered by the city of Pune, as well as a major order for 2,100 electric buses from Mumbai’s public transport operator Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport.
