Solskjaer always intended to bring Laird into the first-team fold eventually, though that decision has been hastened after a pair of injuries in defence. Speaking ahead of Saturday’s game against Bournemouth, Solskjaer told United’s website: ‘Of course there are a couple of knocks. It’ll be a few weeks before Phil can start training and Axel, we won’t probably see until September.
