Solskjaer is keen to sign Bruno Fernandes before the end of the January transfer window but United are refusing to meet Sporting’s asking price and have been unable to agree a deal. Reports have claimed that Solskjaer privately believes that six new signings are required in order for United to drastically improve. But the United manager is adamant that he needs time to complete his overhaul of the squad and that it cannot happen in just one transfer window. ‘I’ve always said it’s not going to be a quick fix, it’s not going to be eight or 10 players in a transfer window.
