United stars have jetted off on their summer holidays, after a disappointing campaign saw them miss out on a top four place. However Solskjaer has set a date of July 1 for his team to arrive back at their Carrington training ground to be put through their paces. The United players were put through an intense programme to improve their fitness, which saw an initial upturn in results. United's pre-season fixtures are set to commence less than a fortnight after the players return, with a trip to face Perth Glory on July 13. Their summer tour sees them visit Australia, China, Singapore and Wales, before the Premier League curtain-raiser on August 10.
