Arians tasted Super Bowl success with the Pittsburgh Steelers as wide receivers' coach in 2006 and offensive co-ordinator in 2009. Only one player in NFL history has a higher success rate from field goals than Butker's 90.08 per cent. There were even predictions that a player might die of Covid-19 at some stage given the number of extremely heavy men in the league. Sixty six players opted out of the season altogether, including Chiefs running back Damien Williams who scored two touchdowns in last year's Super Bowl. So tonight's Super Bowl represents a considerable triumph for the NFL but particularly for the players who stayed the course and made it happen.
