BEAUFORT: Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate Datuk Mohamad Alamin has described the Kimanis by-election as a friendly match between him and his old buddy, Datuk Karim Bujang of Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan). He said although they were now in different political camps, he still regarded Karim as a friend and described him as his mentor in Umno. I am defending the Kimanis seat for Umno and BN, and Karim wants to wrest it for Warisan,” he told reporters today. The 47-year-old Kimanis Umno division chief said he would strive to bring the voice of the people of the constituency and Sabah to Parliament. Early voting is scheduled to take place on Jan 14, while polling day is on Jan 18.
