Ojumole Well 1 fire has been put out, Chevron says

After about three and a half months battle with the Ojumole Well 1 fire caused by a third-party interference in Western Niger Delta axis, Chevron Nigeria Ltd (CNL), operator of the facility says the raging fire has finally been put out. Chevron, operator of the Joint Venture (JV) between the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and CNL (NNPC/CNL JV), in Ojumole field, confirmed the development on Monday morning, saying the fire at the Ojumole Well No.1 has been safely put out. General Manager, Policy, Government and Public Affairs, Chevron Nigeria Ltd, Esimaje Brikinn, made the disclosure in a statement made available to TribuneOnline in Warri. CNL remains committed to the safety of the communities and the environment in its areas of operation. “We continue to conduct our operations safely, reliably and efficiently, with the utmost consideration for protection of people and the environment,” Brikinn noted.
