Dave Tippett will coach his first Edmonton Oilers game Sept. 16. The new bench boss’s first of seven pre-season tilts will be against Winnipeg Jets at Rogers Place. The Oilers’ other home dates are Sept. 19 vs Vancouver, Sept. 20 vs Calgary and Sept. 24 when Arizona Coyotes are here. The three road games are Vancouver, Sept. 26 in Winnipeg and Sept. 28 in Calgary. “We want to thank Will for all his contributions to the team, on and off the ice,” said the Oil Kings.
