Ohai volunteer firefighters went into this year's lock down with added reassurance, 80 per cent of its members were vaccinated against Covid-19. Through Fire and Emergency NZ organised non-compulsory vaccine clinics, 16 of the Ohai Volunteer Fire brigade’s 20 members had received both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine. Hassal said currently the community was holding tight and waiting until tomorrow to make decisions about bringing back the patrols.
