Youths under the auspices of The Unlimited Club of Nigeria have organised a free medical outreach for communities in Abeokuta. The exercise which took place on Sunday, at the Olubara Palace was part of a larger plan to support Nigerians suffering from health issues to overcome their challenges. Hundreds of those who thronged the place were tested and issued drugs for free at the event. Dr Akinbami AbdulLateef who prescribed drugs to the patient while speaking with Tribune Online, revealed that a high number of the beneficiaries tested positive to malaria, typhoid, and high blood pressure. He, therefore, bemoaned the high cost of medical services in hospitals as one of the reasons people resort to self-medication.
