Officials seized a car containing the drugs following a chase on Khemmaraj-Khong Chiam Road, which started in Tambon Khemmaraj in Khemmaraj district at 11.40pm. Authorities set up a road checkpoint at the Muang Mai Intersection on the Khemmaraj-Khoing Chiam Road and spotted a black Chevrolet approaching, which they signalled to stop, and gave chase when it sped off. When the car reached a curve in Moo 13 village in Natal district’s Tambon Palan, it lost control and plunged into a paddy field. The driver escaped on foot into the darkness.
