The Minister had written a note to Mr. Prakash on Monday about officials found absent during a recent attendance check. Mr. Jain had said that 11 officials of the Urban Development Department were found absent at 10.20 a.m. during a random check on May 4 and asked Mr. Prakash to take action. He, however, added, that officials were working beyond office hours and on weekends too. Mr. Prakash also asked Mr. Jain for specific allegations, instead of “unsubstantiated” ones. Mr. Jain had said that ongoing protest by officials against the political executive had affected work.
