Authorities imposed a curfew Friday in Minneapolis after three nights of violent protests left parts of the city in flames. The announcement of charges came hours after hundreds of troops were deployed to the streets of Minneapolis and St Paul. Floyd's death is reminiscent of the demise of Eric Garner, who died in police custody in New York in 2014. "Now we have to be here for George Floyd," Garner's mother, Gwen Carr, told protesters in New York on Friday.
