The Blue Jays had been waiting a long time for a game like this. The Jays’ lineup finally did what it was supposed to do, pounding the Twins 15-8 on Friday, with home runs for from four different players. Known as a relentless and unforgiving offence a year ago, this was just the Jays’ third game with double-digit runs in the past 46. And the outburst allowed Toronto to take sole possession of the East, a game ahead of Boston and two up on Baltimore. The Jays have now held first place in the AL East, either tied or alone, for 14 straight days.
