The world’s first off-road solar car has completed a 1,000km test drive from northern Morocco to the Sahara. Student team Solar Team Eindhoven from the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) developed and built the Stella Terra, which has a top speed of 145kph. In Morocco, the solar car traveled through dry riverbeds, forest area, along steep mountain trails and through the loose desert sand. The solar energy to power Stella Terra is collected from solar panels on the roof. Hydrogen truck helping car get to world solar challenge race on timeOff-road, the range averages about 550 kilometres, depending on the surface.
